Catch-Up

Well, I've done it again and fallen WAY behind on this blog! So, here's a little recap of our last month or two....July 4th was spent in Lafayette with Adam's family at his parent's house. Adam's sister, Niki, was in town so the kids were able to spend some time with her and with all of their cousins (and there are a lot). Fun was had by all....

And finally....Sawyer turned NINE months old!  I can't believe that it is so close to his first birthday already!  He is still a "challenging" child for us, to say the least.  He is still on his prescription hypoallergenic formula and we are introducing solids as well.  We did have an appointment with a Pediatric Allergist and we discovered that Sawyer has an actual allergy to milk, and not just an intolerance (like Garrett had).  So, we were given an Epi-Pen, which we were already familiar with from Garrett's peanut allergy.  We are (obviously) avoiding all milk products and anything containing milk.  We are also avoiding soy, strawberries, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs until age 2 or 3, per the allergists recommendation.  We have also identified that he is intolerant to sweet potatoes, carrots, barley, turkey & cranberries (which means that after eating these things he has horrible tummy pains and screams for hours on end).  So, as you can see, introducing foods has been a bit of a stressful process for us.

On other notes, he has four teeth, all on the bottom, and no teeth on top.  We're thinking we might need to look into baby dentures :)  Despite his allergy & intolerances, he is still growing & thriving.  He weighs in around 19 pounds, 6 ounces (25th %), and was around 29" long (90th%).  He is speed crawling EVERYWHERE and into all of his brothers toys.  He easily pulls himself up to furniture & tables and is "cruising".  He says "Mama", and "Dada", and signs "More".  He loves his Momma, being held & snuggled, & waking at all hours of the night still.  He is also obsessed with remote controls, iPhones, and all electrical cords :(  Oh, he has already climbed (fell) out of his crib and still attempts to do it again on an almost daily basis.  Good thing he's so stinkin' cute!
