Ugh, we finally gave in & got Garrett a pet....well, actually 2 pets that ended up turning into 3 pets! He is obsessed with fish, frogs, turtles, and anything that swims in the water. So, one day after visiting Petsmart to LOOK at fish, we ended up coming home with our very own blue Beta. I didn't want the fish to be lonely so we also got a frog to keep him company. Garrett was completely over the moon excited :) About 5 days after we brought them home, poor Mr. Beta went belly up :( We told Garrett that he was tired and "sleeping" and Adam quickly went to Petsmart to make the "exchange". Things were going well up until Adam returned with 2 goldfish. What the heck?!? How on Earth are we going to explain this to him now? So, the next morning when Garrett ran to the tank to check on his friends, I simply told him that his blue fish changed clothes & turned into an orange fish and that he also had a friend come visit :) He didn't question it and we have had no further casualties so far (thank goodness)!
